Our ETNU Transformation Triumphs Spotlight series honors Veronica Lozano, an amazing woman who has had to overcome and evolve. Her story isn’t just about change. It’s about courage and rising into who you were always meant to be.
Veronica Lozano de Conde is a 54 year-old cosmetologist originally from Mexico, and now resides in Bradenton, Florida. Twenty-nine years ago, Veronica and her husband were in a very serious car accident and unfortunately, he passed away in the car. Veronica incurred a broken femur bone, traumatic brain injury, and was left a widow and a single mom at age 24 with two little kids, ages two and five, to raise alone.
When asked which ETNU Spotlight title best fits your journey to Embrace the New You, Veronica selected Transformation Triumphs. She explained, “From the past to now, this is my transformation. Life is like school. I learn every day from my mistakes and my successes.”
Veronica continued to explain her journey to Embrace the New You. “In 1996, I was in an accident with my husband when he had lost control of the car. He passed away immediately in the car. I was suddenly a surviving widow, a single mom, and I had my two little children counting on me. I don’t recall how long I was in the hospital. I was blessed to have my parents and my husband’s parents to help take care of my kids for the next six months as I was unable to walk. During this time, I realized I had to move through life, needed energy to move forward and move on, and to move to the United States to provide the best opportunities for my kids. My move to the United States was to enable me and my kids a new and better life and the ability to transform. In 2001, we moved to the United States,” Veronica said.
Despite all of these sudden life changes, Veronica did not seek therapy to process things, grieve what she has lost, and to stay strong. When Veronica was asked where she found her strength to get past her challenges, she explained, “In those moments you don’t have time to think about it. You just do it and keep going. We moved to get a different lifestyle and to start over again.
She had a simple yet powerful approach to the cards that life had dealt her in her journey to Embrace the New You. She never thought she had any obstacles. She just had to keep going. “I moved and got my US license for cosmetology so I can begin my career again and build my new clientele. I was very fortunate to get clients right away, Lozano said.
Veronica was then asked how she stays positive. She responded, “After all I went through, I do not see obstacles – this keeps me positive. I went through such hard times, so now I don’t see any obstacles. They are just challenges. Also, years later, I met a wonderful man who is now my husband. He is such a great support.
With regard to advice she can give to others who are also facing their own challenges and journeys, Veronica shared that, “You need to learn how to live with problems and challenges in life. You just need to keep going. Don’t get stuck. Don’t let problems and obstacles stop you.”
Of the five different ETNU designs, the Sun, Turtle, Sunflower, Phoenix, Butterfly, the one that resonates most with Veronica is the Butterfly. She explained, “I needed to start living again. I am free again and I feel like I blossomed like a butterfly in the process.”
The mantra Embrace the New You – ETNU has greatly inspired Veronica. “Life changes and keeps going. It does not stop for anyone. We all have many experiences. It is all about Embracing the New You as you grow. We leave behind the old person to get a new one.” Lozano shared.
A fun fact about you Veronica is that she loves nature. She loves plants, animals, everything nature has to offer.
Veronica’s journey is more than a personal victory—it’s a spark and a reminder that we’re all in this together. Through transformation comes triumph, and through triumph, we find each other. Wherever you are on your journey, know this: you're not alone, you have the strength to make change, and your breakthrough is just as powerful. Together, we rise.
